2 cars, 2 planes, a bus and a train later, I have safely arrived in Tainan University of Technology here in Tainan, Taiwan in one piece… LITERALLY!
It’s been one heck of a day and one mad dash of an adventure, but what do you know!? I actually survived! And from today’s escapades, I’ve learned two things:
- I’m too much of a chicken to actually go exploring unless God forces me to… Current case, seriously, I would not have dared do what I did today if I had any other choice. Therefore, God allowed circumstances to let me find my way to Tainan all on my own (with lots of detailed instructions, phone calls and other forms of help!) And after what I went through today, I believe I can definitely say, I’m better for it. I grew up some bit, so I’m thankful for what happened.
- Be happy! Keep that attitude no matter what! Psalm 40:4 was one of the words that caught my eye today: “Happy is the person who trusts the Lord…” and of course, the classic Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice.” These two verses just managed to let me pull it together that I’m looking at my experiences as awesome, surprising adventures.
So as the cliche: “Things happen for a reason” go, I kinda understood what went on today. Hey if day 1 is this crazy, I’m super excited for my next 44 days! 🙂
